It's fun to decorate for the holidays
and even more fun to make those decorations.
This DIY Give Thanks garland is easy and looks great!
~ 2 cups bleached flour
~ 1 cup salt
~ 3/4 cup cold water
~ 1/2 teaspoon powdered alum
This recipe doesn't make play dough. What you will have is a dough that will hold together when pressed but crumbles easily if rolled.
Directions:
~ Mix all the ingredients with your hands into a ball.
~ Gently press the dough out until it is 1/8 inch thick.
~ Cut with cookie cutters or free hand.
~ Bake at 250 degrees for 2 hours
~ Paint as desired
I used craft paint and glued the letters to burlap ribbon. If you would rather tie yours, make holes with a straw at the tops of each letter before baking.
